SED proposes to keep 6 per cent lecturers as temporary replacement against lecturers on deputation | KNO

Srinagar, Oct 03 (KNO): School Education Department has proposed to keep an alternative of at least six percent of lecturers as a temporary replacement of those lecturers put on deputation, training and leave purposes. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), earlier there were only 6,255 lecturers in Jammu and Kashmir and in 2019, the department increased the teaching strength to 10,330. The department has proposed to keep the reservation of two percent of lecturers for deputation purposes, two percent for training purposes and two percent for leave purposes. Meanwhile, an official said, “We have proposed to keep alternatives in order to avoid any sort of deficiencies in the department.” The official further said that this will help in upgrading the quality of education. Earlier, KNO reported that the department has proposed to conduct departmental examinations through the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) to promote its employees. Besides, the department has also proposed that the Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Trainings (JKSCERT) will set the syllabus for the departmental examination. Stating other proposed changes that B.ED degree has been added to the existing qualification of existing PG only as per NCERT guidelines—(KNO)
